htcp (cp) : serogroup F prophage head-tail closure-connection protein [1]

Most staphylococcal prophage require four small proteins to connect phage capsids to phage tails. Head-tail closure-connection protein (HTCP) binds to HTAP conformation-adapted capsids forming a cap to prevent premature genome leakage and a capsid capable of binding phage tails. During the head-tail connection process, HTCP will form the capsid-tail interface with the joining protein component of the phage tail assembly.
